About the Dean’s Research Council Space Committee:
The College of Medicine Dean’s Research Council Space Committee (COM/DRCSC) is advisory to the Dean of the College of Medicine and reports to the Associate Dean for Research. The COM/DRCSC enforces the standards for research space allocation established in the Guidelines, Research Space Allocation and Review, College of Medicine, University of Arizona, as approved by COM Center Directors and Department Heads in May 1998.

The COM/DRCSC evaluates current Center and Department space allocation, requests for additional space, and long range planning.

Guidelines, Research Space Allocation and Review, College of Medicine, University of Arizona
The Guidelines (Revised April 2007) were established to comply with an ABOR mandate to improve space utilization and meet all accreditation requirements for space. The Guidelines are applicable to all facilities associated with the College of Medicine.

College of Medicine Dean’s Research Council Space Request Form
If a COM Department or Center cannot meet space needs with current allocation, the Department Head or Center Director should submit a Space Request Form to the COM/DRCSC. This form provides detailed information to the COM/DRCSC regarding how much and what type of space is needed, what programs it will support, and who will occupy it. The COM/DRCSC will send notification to the Department Head or Center Director once a decision has been reached.
